PDP GOVERNORS FORUM UNVEILS GOVERNOR OKEZIE IKPEAZU AND ITS NEW VICE CHAIRMAN

The Peoples’ Democratic Party Governors’ Forum held its 2020/1st meeting yesterday, Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the Sokoto State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja. At the end of the meeting, the following communique was signed and released by its new Chairman, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State;



1.   We congratulate our great party, the PDP over the recent Supreme Court verdict and today’s affirmation of the November 2019 Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Elections; and we welcome our colleague and newest member, Senator Diri Duruoye and his Deputy, Senator   Lawrence Ewhruojakpo.



2.   We request the Supreme Court to also in the spirit of fair play, reverse its decision in the Imo State Governorship as a result of the extra-ordinary circumstances that attended the decision.



3.   The forum and the NWC of the party equally deliberated on key issues that affect our great party, and resolved on the way forward.



4.   We have today equally unveiled H.E. Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor of Abia State, as the Vice Chairman of our revered forum.

Dream Come True, As NDDC Inaugurates Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce Board

The resilience of Chief Samuel Ogbuku, (PhD), Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), who nurtured the birth of the Niger Delta Chambers of Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA), came to bear when all other such chambers in the region put up a resistance against the registration of NDCCITMA, a battle that lasted over nine months. ASUU UniAbuja begins indefinite strike

  The University of Abuja branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite strike over some unresolved issues between the management and the union. Some of the issues include the illegal Advertorial for vacancy of the position of Vice Chancellor by the current vice chancellor of the institution and illegal recruitments without due Process. A statement by the Chairperson of the ASUU University of Abuja chapter, Dr Sylvanus Ugoh says the decision to embark on the indefinite strike was reached after the congress of the Chapter with approval by ASUU National.  Ugoh said after following due process in line with ASUU procedures, the Trustees and Principal Officers granted the branch the permission to proceed on an indefinite, comprehensive and total strike until the issues in contention were addressed. He said other issues include the refusal to conduct the election to the positions of Deanship into various faculties and Provost College of Health Sciences
