Statement made available to the media last night in Yenagoa and signed by the Secretary
of the Commission, Dr. Catharyn Nwajiaku-Dahou, the Bayelsa State Oil Environmental
Commission will present an INTERIM REPORT to the Governor of Bayelsa State,
Hon Henry Seriake Dickson in Yenagoa today, Friday 1st of November,
2019 at 3pm prompt.
The interim report, which will be presented by the
Commission Chair, the Archbishop of York, Dr John Santemu outlines what the
Commission has seen and heard over the last seven months and will be available
to the public on Friday 1st November.
The Commission will also brief the media, the general public, affected communities, and other stakeholders on their activities so far.

The report documents
the widespread Environmental and human damage which occurs as a result of oil
exploration in the state.
