The President of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association, Akwa Ibom State Chapter - Comrade Chris Udi has commended the Akwa Ibom State Governor His Excellency, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for transforming the State from a Civil Service to an Industrial State. 

In his Statement made available to our reporter by the State Publicity Secretary of the Association – Mr. Usen Umoh, Comrade Udi revealed that his commendation was on the basis of the numerous building and commissioning of viable industries in the State. Some of the projects to be commissioned include the most digitized power sub-station in West Africa situated in Ekim, and the Flour Mills in Onna among others.

Comrade Chris Udi called on the Governor to do everything within his powers to decentralize the location of these industries across all the Federal Constituencies of the State so as to tap from the abundant raw materials and manpower of those areas for rapid development of the State. 

Comrade Udi ceased the opportunity to felicitate with the Governor and the entire people of Akwa Ibom State on the 32rd Anniversary celebration of the State.

Akwa Ibom State will attain 32 years of existence as a State in the Federal Republic of Nigeria today, Monday 23rd of September 2019. The government and people of the State are set to celebrate the anniversary with a line-up of activities.
