The Governor of Bayelsa State, Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has congratulated the Chairman of the People Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus as he clocked 64 on March 22, 2019.

The Governor said in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, that Prince Uche Secondus provided leadership for the People’s Democratic Party at a critical period when the party needed all the push and support to get past the many challenges before it.

He said that it took the courage, the dexterity and resilience of a leader in the mould of Secondus to steer the party out of the stormy waters to put it on the pedestal of the most popular party in the country.

He said that the exploits of the PDP in the last election and the awaiting victories of the party in the outstanding elections are testimonies of Secondus dedication as a leader.

The countryman Governor said that the PDP has moved from a party in custody of crisis to a strong and focussed political platform feared by the ruling partly because of the leadership provided by Secondus and others.

The Governor also said that the recent victory of the PDP in the Osun election and the awaited victory of the party at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal are testimonies of the efforts of the great leadership provided by the PDP Chairman.

Gov Dickson prayed to God to give the PDP Chairman a lifetime of fruitfulness and productivity.

He said, “ I felicitate with the Chairman òf our great Party, Prince Uche Secondus on his birthday.

“Prince Secondus took over the leadership of the PDP at very times. The current events and political fortune and indeed the level of internal cohesion within the party have shown in clear terms that he provided uncommon leadership at a trying period.

“We are indeed proud of him as an Ijaw man, a great son of the Niger Delta and indeed a worthy servant of our nation who has made commendable efforts in deepening the culture of democracy and promoting healthy opposition in the country.

“I pray to God to give him good health and indeed a life of productivity.”
