BAYELSA STATE GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT His Excellency, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State, has approved the appointment of the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Ebitimitula Nicholas Etebu,  as the Acting Vice Chancellor òf the newly established Bayelsa State Medical University, Yenagoa. Prof. Etebu, a fellow of the International College òf Surgeons, was the Medical Director at the Federal Medical Centre Yenagoa from 2006 to 2014. Prof. Etebu, a Professor òf Pathology, also lectured at the Department òf Health Sciences, University òf Port Harcourt from 2003 to 2006. The Governor said that the executive order was aimed at ensuring that the automatic employment policy is sustained annually even after the end of his administration. Anenih: Nigeria has lost a political colossus - Gov. Dickson Chief Tony Anenih Bayelsa State Governor, Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has said Nigeria lost a political colossus in the late Chief Tony Anenih. Governor Dickson, in a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, said he received the news of Chief Anenih's passing with shock. He described Anenih as an astute politician and elder statesman whose vacuum will be difficult to fill. Flood: Gov Dickson approves additional N100m for relief materials, resettlement of victims Bayelsa State Governor, Honourable Seriake Dickson, yesterday, approved an additional N100 million for the provision of relief materials and the resettlement of flood victims across the eight local government areas of the state. Governor Dickson had earlier approved N50 million towards ameliorating the plight of victims of the disaster.
