The Facility Management Council of Nigeria (FCMB) (Est. etc)
Bill 2018 (SB.340) has been read and passed by the Senate of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria. This information was gathered from the Twitter handle of
the senate (@NGRSenate) today Wednesday 18th of July, 2018.
In an interview with our Abuja Bureau Chief, the President
of the Institute of Global Facility Management, co promoters of the Bill, Mr.
Paul Abbey,
congratulated the members of the facility management professionals
over the passage of this very fundamental bill to the practice of facility
management in Nigeria. Mr. Abbey said the quest for professionalism and wealth
creation in the facility management profession will be accomplished with the
passage of this bill.
He commended the dedication and astuteness of Senator Ahmed
Abubakar and Senator Baba Kaka who sponsored the Bill and saw to its
being passed as worthy friends of the facility management professionals in
Nigeria.
It would be recalled that on World Facility Management Day,
marked on the 15th of May every year, Mr. Paul Abbey had entreated
the national Assembly for the early passage of the Bill for the Institute of
Facility Management of Nigeria.
