GCUOBACC WINS CCC DIVISION 2 LEAGUE!!!!!! 

Good Evening gentlemen, I want to use this medium to say a big THANK YOU to everyone in the house for the support given the GCUOBACC...

We could certainly not have done it without the input of everyone in the house.. and we thank you all Specially!!!!

It has been a long journey in such a short time frame.. When I look back and think about our start of the season last year and see what we have achieved collectively since then, it makes me proud to call myself a member of the GCUOBACC..

Though we have achieved and met one of our objectives and milestone we set for our self as a team this year by gaining promotion to the Elite Premier Division one League, the most impressive of our achievement I would say this season has been one of helping develop the game of Cricket as a whole in Nigeria..

We are proud to say that this year we had 11 of our players called up to the Nigerian National Cricket camp, we had 6 players invited to the Nigerian National Under 19 team, and 4 to the Senior national team...  This alone is a feat no other team in the country can boast of..

We could not have achieved this feat without the support of all Oldboys ....

We PROUDLY CAN SAY THE GCU BRAND HAS TAKEN ITS PLACE AND IS SAILING WITH PRIDE AMONGST ITS SISTER SHIPS IN THIS CRICKETING  ARMADA....

As we prepare to start our voyage into the prestigious division one, we pray and believe that you all will stand firmly behind the team as we navigate through the treacherous rough seas of Division one League cricket...

ASUU UniAbuja begins indefinite strike

  The University of Abuja branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite strike over some unresolved issues between the management and the union. Some of the issues include the illegal Advertorial for vacancy of the position of Vice Chancellor by the current vice chancellor of the institution and illegal recruitments without due Process. A statement by the Chairperson of the ASUU University of Abuja chapter, Dr Sylvanus Ugoh says the decision to embark on the indefinite strike was reached after the congress of the Chapter with approval by ASUU National.  Ugoh said after following due process in line with ASUU procedures, the Trustees and Principal Officers granted the branch the permission to proceed on an indefinite, comprehensive and total strike until the issues in contention were addressed. He said other issues include the refusal to conduct the election to the positions of Deanship into various faculties and Provost College of Health Sciences
