RESTORATION CUP 2018

The second edition of the Governor Seriake Dickson Football Tournament is here.

This edition is strictly for all communities and tertiary institutions in Bayelsa State. 

Interested participants should pick their forms at the Restoration Cup secretariat at Ijaw House along Sani Abacha expressway, Yenagoa for N5000 only from Monday, February 26.

Deadline for submission of completed forms is Monday   March 5, 2018.

This edition promises to be bigger and better with N11m prize money at stake. Winners will take home N5m, second position N3m, third position N2m, and fourth position N500,000.

There are also consolation prizes as the well behaved team will get 200,000 while N100,000 each will go to the Highest Goal Scorer, Most Valuable Player and Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.

ASUU UniAbuja begins indefinite strike

  The University of Abuja branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite strike over some unresolved issues between the management and the union. Some of the issues include the illegal Advertorial for vacancy of the position of Vice Chancellor by the current vice chancellor of the institution and illegal recruitments without due Process. A statement by the Chairperson of the ASUU University of Abuja chapter, Dr Sylvanus Ugoh says the decision to embark on the indefinite strike was reached after the congress of the Chapter with approval by ASUU National.  Ugoh said after following due process in line with ASUU procedures, the Trustees and Principal Officers granted the branch the permission to proceed on an indefinite, comprehensive and total strike until the issues in contention were addressed.
