GCUOBA CRICKET CLUB Vs PIONEERS CRICKET CLUB.

The coordinator of the GCUOBA Cricket Club, Mr. Peter Ekeijare has appealed to the GCUOBA members especially those leaving in Lagos and environs to be reminded that our match against PIONEER Cricket Club comes up tomorrow, Saturday 16th of December, 2017 at IGBOBI College Lagos. First ball is 10am.

He implored all old boys and friends of Government College Ughelli to come out in their numbers to watch and cheer their darling team to victory. It will be recalled that GCUOBA Cricket Club defeated the FCC 11 team and went away with an extra point from the match on the 25th November, the same day one of its deceased members was laid to rest. A one minute silence was observed in honor of the Late Captain Samson Marioghae (Sammy Kapur) and that victory was dedicated to him.

Mr. Manney Ekeijere says a big thank you to all and promises a Christmas after Four session as we relax and watch what promises to be a very interesting game.

ASUU UniAbuja begins indefinite strike

  The University of Abuja branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite strike over some unresolved issues between the management and the union. Some of the issues include the illegal Advertorial for vacancy of the position of Vice Chancellor by the current vice chancellor of the institution and illegal recruitments without due Process. A statement by the Chairperson of the ASUU University of Abuja chapter, Dr Sylvanus Ugoh says the decision to embark on the indefinite strike was reached after the congress of the Chapter with approval by ASUU National.  Ugoh said after following due process in line with ASUU procedures, the Trustees and Principal Officers granted the branch the permission to proceed on an indefinite, comprehensive and total strike until the issues in contention were addressed.
