Reforms: Bayelsa Govt Recovers, Saves 684M from LGAs Alone …Head of Service, Labour Deny Sack of 28, 000 Workers …Rumours of Sack, Handiwork of Opposition The Bayelsa State Government has revealed that, the ongoing reforms in the public service has continued to yield positive results, as it is currently saving about 684 million Naira annually from the review of the grade levels of workers at the Local Government level alone. Making the revelation at a joint media briefing of top government functionaries in Government House, Yenagoa, the State Commissioner for Local Government Administration, Mrs. Agatha Goma, explained that, the review of the grade levels of workers was to ensure that, Local Government staff are at their appropriate grade levels as well as check cases of arbitrary promotions.   According to her, from the exercise which was carried out by the Local Government Service Commission, the Government made savings of about N57 million monthly,...

NO SACKING OF 28,000 WORKERS, APC LIED AGAIN ...SAYS REFORMS NOT DESIGNED TO SACK WORKERS, INFLICT HARDSHIP   The Bayelsa State Government has debunked a wild claim by a faction of the All Progressives Congress led by Chief Timipre Silva that the government has sacked 28,000 workers as a fallout of the going reforms.   The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said in a statement on Friday that the claim made by the factional Chairman, Jonathan Amos, only confirmed the APC in the state as a party that thrives on lies and fraud.   Iworiso-Markson said that Jothan and his faction of the APC only made a failed attempt to discredit the well intentioned and generally received public sector reforms in Bayelsa.   He said that Media reports quoting the factional APC Chairman as having described his imagined sack of 28,000 workers as regrettable only shows that he and his misled followers are not abreast of developments in Bayelsa...

DICKSON CUP: CAMP OPENS FOR 100 SELECTED PLAYERS   One of the participating teams in the just completed Restoration Cup No fewer than 100 players selected from the just concluded second edition of the Governor Seriake Dickson Football Tournament otherwise known as the Restoration Cup will begin the first phase of open camping from Monday, June 25, 2018. The screening exercise will take place at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa from 8am. Media Director of the tournament, Daniel Alabrah, in a press release, asked the selected players to check their names on the notice boards at the Restoration Cup secretariat at Ijaw House along Sani Abacha Road in Yenagoa, the Ministry of Sports and at the Samson Siasia stadium.
